The National Home Ownership Resource Network was formed by individuals seeking to provide complete information to the public about managing credit challenges, getting out of debt and creating a savings program. Our members are bound by a strict code of ethics and discipline process to ensure consumers are always treated fairly by an NHORN member.
Our association’s members have the highest level of training and ethics in the financial services industry.
The NHORN Membership Requirements
- Attend an in-person, two-day training seminar held at various times throughout the year. This ensures that all members understand the ways to assist consumers with credit challenges and gives the association’s leaders an opportunity to meet with individuals before considering them for membership.
- Participate in a monthly conference call for updates on foreclosure techniques and law.
- Attend three in-person meetings a year for detailed training and information sharing.
- Review and agree to abide by a strict Code of Professional Conduct.
- Agree to abide by the NHORN dispute resolution process.
- Sign a detailed membership agreement that outlines our members’ responsibilities to their consumers and their agreement to submit to our dispute resolution process.
- Undergo criminal background checks before admittance into the association.

Benefits Our Members in 8 Important Ways:
- Consumer Education - NHORN members will have exclusive use of our consumer information brochures and materials to assist them when educating consumers about credit challenges. These materials give consumers the information they need to get out of debt and create a savings plan.
- Communication - Weekly fax notice on critical information and industry trends, so you will know about legal or regulatory changes months before your competition. That lead time can mean extra profit for you!
- Educational Programming - Three conferences a year and monthly phone calls keep our members up to date on the latest laws and techniques for helping homeowners navigate the credit problems. The association pulls together the expert advice and counsel our members need into one location. This programming is the best-of-the-best and tailored exactly to the needs of our members.
- Networking Opportunities - Get to know colleagues in the industry and learn the secrets of their success. These are the badly needed opportunities for those of us within the industry to come together, meet about common issues, discuss challenges and leave with a handful of good ideas to improve our businesses. There are so few of us around the country, it is critical for us to get together to share ideas on our unique business needs.
- Membership Logo - Consumers are able to distinguish our members as foreclosure prevention professionals because of the NHORN member logo.
- Health Insurance - The NHORN has negotiated access to coverage and special rates exclusive to association members.
- Discount programs - Access to discount programs and exclusive suppliers so you can lower expenses and watch as more money goes to the bottom line.
- National Directory - Listing in the national directory marketed to consumers by the National Home Ownership Resource Network will position you as an expert in the industry.
